Yesterday, we emphasized the fact that Bathsheba was relevant in her son’s kingdom even in her old age. I want to believe that one of her secrets is knowing what parenting is. A quote from Myles Munroe of blessed memory says, “When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable”.
Today, we have some culture that encourage child marriage, teenage pregnancy, early fatherhood and motherhood because they do not understand what parenting is and what it should achieve.
For Bathsheba, I want to believe that her success in parenting began from the point of understanding that God has a purpose for her in parenting, so for her; parenting was more than the title of motherhood, hence she positioned herself in such a manner that God’s purpose for her in parenting was birthed against all odds.
