Another way in which love can be communicated, according to Gary Chapman, is through gifts. Our scripture today says that God loves the world so much that he has to express his love through giving. An old adage says you can give without love, but it is impossible to love and not give, meaning that giving gifts is second nature to love, especially for those whose primary love language is gifts.

It is important to note that the nature of love is not important to a partner who expresses or receives love as a gift, meaning that whether the gift is made or bought will not matter; the size, shape, color, or other characteristics will not make it less important. All that matters to a person or spouse whose primary love language is gifts is the fact that you’re mindful and thoughtful enough to get them a gift.
