Monitoring is a systematic process of observing and reviewing the progress or quality of a task’s performance over a period of time. Parenting is an area of discipline that requires consistent monitoring. Hence, a parent needs to be observant and faithful to pay close attention to changes in his or her child.

Jochebed (the mother of biblical Moses) was a strategic mother. She understands time and seasons and knows how to take advantage of opportunities. She is a mother who has an end in sight. Through inspiration, she crafted a concise basket that will not sink her child but sail him into the fulfillment of his life purpose.

Parenting is a task that requires high focus, which is why everyone who will be involved in it is advised not to be lured or pushed into it accidentally, by circumstance, or for any selfish purpose. Parenting must be a choice made deliberately because of its consuming nature.

Truly, parenting is becoming more challenging in recent times than it was in the past, following the position of the world economy, which has played a major role in influencing gender roles and throwing many parents out of balance.

Children can endure a lot and hide a lot, especially those who are introverts or children whose parents barely have time for them. Knowing the details around your child per time will require a lot of sensitivity and involvement. Give it a good shot, this season and you can only be grateful to God for the outcome.

All through January, the subject of understanding the concept of parenting was in view, and we defined the acronyms of P.A.R.E.N.T. as Patient-Admirer-Realistic-Enduring-Nearest-Teacher. Having taught on what the Lord expected of us as parents through the first four letters of the acronyms, going forward we will be looking at N-nearest, which suggests that parents are the first contacts that a child has immediately after birth, and this continues until the child begins preparatory school.

Welcome to February! It was amazing how impactful the last month’s teachings were, and the feedback gotten is so encouraging, knowing fully that the hand of God is stretched out in a new dimension to put parents into a better perspective of their roles and how best they can be played out.

To be a referenced parent or parent-to-be, you have to have all the above qualities. As we know that the daughter of an ungodly king was set to pay Jochebed wages if she could nurture Moses, how much more will God highly reward every parent who is set to raise their children for him, for children are God’s heritage.

To endure simply means to have the agility or tenacity to go through and withstand a prolonged stressful process until success is obtained. It takes endurance to go through the heat of giving birth and to rise without giving up in the face of difficulty, as it takes a lot of endurance to advance in adversity.
