Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus secured his father’s attention first by thanking him, and afterwards his request to bring Lazarus back to life was granted. Likewise, when he had the need to feed five thousand men with just two fish and five loaves of bread, he did the same and enjoyed the same result. The only Leaper who came back to thank Jesus for the favor he received from him got another one back instantly. This shows how gratitude can improve and sustain any form of relationship. Saying “thank you” shows that you value the help received, esteem the giver, and have respect for the relationship you share.
