Experiences that leads to childhood trauma may include but not limited to

✓Child sexual abuse and rape.

✓Emotional abuse such as neglect, sleep deprivation, and food deprivation.

✓Bullying

✓Dysfunctional family system

✓Loss of loved ones, e.g., both parents, siblings, cousins, close friends, etc.

✓Stress/poverty

✓War and social violence

[Poor parenting style

✓Medical conditions, and much more.

Trauma experienced at any stage of life should be well-treated so as not to deteriorate one’s perception, concept, or estimation about himself/herself, especially in the case of:

✓Divorce

✓Marital separation

✓Early widowhood

✓Having a problematic child/children

✓Loss of a job or source of income

✓Addiction, and so on.

Identify any unresolved child-hood hurt/ trauma. Seek help on how to heal so as to have a healthy marital relationship.
