Emphasis was laid on the fact that they are sexual beings and should be comfortable with the change they see while they get informed on ways by which their sexuality can be properly managed as they grow older.
Pupils and teachers at the school were excited to have us speak with their boys and girls on the subject matter above. Girls and boys were enlightened and informed on the following; what sexual assault and rape is, who can be raped, tactics of rapist, what to do if one eventually becomes a victim and many more.
Victims of unhealthy self-esteem feel flattered when they are complimented, and they cannot easily compliment others, no matter how dedicated or loyal a person is to them.
It is expedient that you help your spouse to be assertive while you lead by example; do not say he or she can only lie to others or insult others but not you, for you will both bear the consequences of such insecurity.
When a person has a poor estimation of himself or herself, he/she has negative self-perception or poor self-image.
One of the symptoms such a person exhibits is lying and insulting other people in driving home his/her point; howbeit, lying is a behavioral misconduct that is associated with negative self-concept. It is important for our ‘Yes’ to be ‘Yes’ and our ‘No’ to be ‘No’, which will be easily achieved when our esteem is enhanced through positive self- perception.
There is a call to strike a balance between our outward appearance and our inner-self. This is important for a sustainable relationship with God, yourself and your spouse.
A number of people suffering from negative self-perception do find it convenient to neglect the care of theirselves at the expense of circumstances and dictates of others.
Negative self-talk entails speaking negatively to yourself or speaking negatively about yourself in the hearing of others around you, which could painfully stir negative thoughts and actions from them towards you.
A man cannot be better than his profession or confession about himself. When you don’t believe in yourself, it will show in how you address yourself.
There are indicators that reveal how well a person’s self-esteem or self-perception is; when one or two of these indicators or characteristics pop up in our daily dealings with people, they can easily tell where to place our esteem, which further affects how well we relate to our marital challenges.
