A NEAREST-PARENT BRINGS HER CHILDREN TOGETHER
Jochebed was such a mother to be cherished, referenced, and a jewel of inestimable value and dignity. Yesterday, we said she was a nearby observer of her children, as she was not too far away when the pharaoh’s daughter needed her attention.
Another wonderful lesson to be learnt from this priceless mother was her ability to bind her children together all in love, to the extent that they could look after one another even when she was long out of the scene. Each of them was his brother’s keeper, and this attribute is first observed in Mariam as she strategically watched over her younger brother (Moses) as he lay at the river’s side.
